The challenge

The airport ran a mix of diesel and lead-acid tugs that struggled with bank-after-bank turnaround and triggered apron emission limits at the new terminal.

Our solution

Wattrae supplied 80V / 450Ah LFP packs with aviation-grade BMS and 100A high-rate chargers. Diesel tugs were retrofitted to electric drivetrains; lead-acid tugs were converted in place.

  • Zero local emissions on apron

  • Bank turnaround time held even at peak season

  • Battery rooms with hydrogen vents removed
